1: a style or technique (as in music, literature, or design) that is characterized by extreme spareness and simplicity.
I don’t know about you, but our closets are overflowing. I can hardly close mine at this point, while piles of clothes are scattered everywhere around the house. This constant clutter is not only frustrating when trying to get ready in the morning or tidying the house, it’s also fogging our brains. I can’t think, create or focus like that. So in our quest for a more conscious way of life, we want to simplify, to release, to make space for something new. To spend more time creating and living than consuming and accumulating. We’ve definitely been inspired by the whole idea of minimalism, as owning less but better. This is also because we often find ourselves completely uninspired by our clothes. I’m sure you’ve felt that way too, staring at your closet with nothing to wear. Where are those things that make our heart sing? That get us excited to get ready in the morning? We want to create a wardrobe that is more streamlined bit more exciting! No more piles of fast fashion, what we strive for is finding fewer pieces that we love. Things that are made with good design and sustainability in mind.
Going through the process of letting go can be tough. We’ve compiled a few resources in case you want to join us. There’s a few different approaches to this, just find the one that speaks to you. Don’t be too strict, do things gradually.
